Harlem Shuffle
Skateboarding as a form of identity. This series portraits four young Black men from Harlem, New York, for whom the skateboard is far more than a recreational activity — it is a meeting point, a shared language, a sense of belonging.
Technical skill takes a back seat. What matters is the bond built on the streets, reflected in shared dress codes, gestures, and a nonverbal language that defines them as a group. Here, skating is not a sport — it is identity.
